On another note, I recently drove back from Boston to Fredericton, and we used the app Waze on our phones on the way back. Its a social gps tracking/reporting application for reporting activity on highways, navigating, searching etc. One thing I especially like, was that it a) shows all other users using it on your map overhead, and 2) people driving report things they see, like accidents, cars on the shoulder, police cars with speed traps, etc. When coming up the 95, well into Maine, we could see at any time, a dozen or more cars (wazers) ahead of us on the highway, and a marker so many kms ahead, and a counter of when it was last reported - ie, 30 seconds ago. I like this, quite current. I drove back from Memramcook to Fredericton tonight, using most of the way, and only saw one other user in Moncton - that was it. It definitely needs a critical mass of users to make it worthwhile joining, but thought I would mention it here anyway. Anyone else here use this app? Its a lot similar to trapster, if youve ever used that, but really extends the capabilities, imo.
