Louisville Extreme Park Partial Redesign Public Meeting September 24 LOUISVILLE, Ky. (September 13, 2013) – Louisville Metro Parks will hold a public meeting to gather input on the design for the planned partial relocation of the Louisville Extreme Park. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on September 24 at the Cyril Allgeier Community Center, 4101 Cadillac Court. The project is being undertaken because the Ohio River Bridges Project will necessitate demolishing and reconstructing approximately one-third of the Extreme Park, to make way for construction of the flyover ramps that will support the new Louisville-Southern Indiana downtown bridge. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has provided functional replacement funding to Metro Government for the relocation of the affected portion of the park on property adjacent to the existing park. At this public meeting, project managers and consultants will provide an overview of the project, and foster discussion to shape and develop a design plan for the relocated portion of the park. This is the first of two public meetings planned to gather input.
