Love Filth or Love Christ? When I think about redirecting our love its actually quite ironical. We give our love to the filth we ought to hate and we dont give our love to the One we ought to love. Why would we love something that we know will destroy us? No matter how sweet the sugar coating is, theres a bitter pill within. The Bible has warned us. Other men whos been there testified the same. Yet we plow ahead like a bonehead. Paul echoed our state in Romans7:19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. Why? Romans 7:20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. We are sin driven! We cant win on our own. Not even for the greatest Apostle - Paul, when he admitted: Romans 7:24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? We are doomed. We are subject to death. The future is bleak. There’s no escape. Will anyone rescue us? Here comes our hero ... Romans 7:25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. Because of Jesus and what He did for us of the Cross ... Romans 8:1-2 1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. No condemnation for all the wrongs weve ever done and will continue to do. Jesus set us free from sin and death. Not because we will stop sinning before we meet Him. But because He has paid for all of our sins? Why would Jesus, who owns everything and lack nothing, pay such a huge price for us who are so rebellious and undeserving? Because He loves & treasures us. John 15:13 (KJV) 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Guys, let this knowledge of His magnificent love for you and me ignite in our hearts a love for Him like never before. There is no greater love than this! Let this love for our Savior replace our love for the filth.
