Love/ Relationships/ Marriage September 16- Giving Permission Total submission is “giving permision to.” When we began submitting ourselves to the leading of the Holy Spirit, as husband and wife, we began to hear from Him more often and more succinctly. We became more like-minded; being in harnony. We gave each other permission to share with the other what we were hearing, even if we knew it was something they might not necessarily want to hear. We were careful not to use the Holy Spirit “card” to manipulate or control the other person to get our way. The Bible calls that witchcraft (2 Tim. 3:6-8). We began to trust each other with this special entitlement as we saw it was a supernatural God-given capability that helped us sort out earthly insight (man’s best) for Heavenly Insight (God’s Best). It’s powerful! This requires great patience, self-control and obedience, individually and as a couple. This is just one of the ways that, “two are better that one because they have a good reward for their fellowship (Ecc.4:9).” Father God, Lord Jesus, Precious Holy Spirit, we allow You permission to interrupt our schedule and speak to us as You see fit. Come Holy Spirit! We have been on a journey in our marriage with the Holy Spirit. We have seen the unique and critical role He plays in our staying unified as husband and wife.
