Love, after a while, quits being a feeling. It, like everything - TopicsExpress

Love, after a while, quits being a feeling. It, like everything else in the world, becomes a choice. You must choose to wake up every morning and be thankful you have a job rather than choosing to dread it. You must choose to be thankful for the bills you have to pay because you have the opportunity to have them, a roof over your head, food in your stomach, and the ability to have a vehicle. Rather than choosing to be angry that they keep coming. Heres a secret. Thats what bills do. They wont become a smaller amount just because youre unhappy that you have to pay them. You must choose to be happy to live paycheck to paycheck rather than be stressed because more would make life easier. At least that next paycheck is coming. You must choose to wake up every morning and love the person next to you. That person may not be perfect but their perfect imperfections is why you loved them in the first place. That person may not have been happy about something yesterday but the minute you wake up is the moment you choose to love. Its not a chore. Its not a burden. Its a glorious gift that can many times be taken for granted. You lose the butterfly feeling but you never lose the person. The person is there. Beautiful and loving and trusting you to choose to love them through dark times. Through sad times. That person puts their heart in your hands and believes that no matter the argument that you wont give up. That the day you promised to put the pieces of the broken heart left in the wake of someone elses wrong choices is the day you chose to mean that forever. That person wakes up and prays that you will choose to keep that promise alive and thriving. That person wakes up beside you knowing that they are worth making that choice but fearing that you wont. But that person chooses to put that fear aside and chooses to love you with their whole heart the way you should choose to in return. If your choice to love someone dies with the butterflies in your stomach, you are missing out on the best part of life. If your choice to love someone is not strong enough to withstand the small storms than how will your choice be strong enough to survive the thunder of a hurricane? Every day, every moment is a choice. What will you choose?
