Unwilling to open her tired eyes she basked in the comforting warmth of the morning sun as it gently kissed her face. Languidly, she stretched her arms over her head before slowly bringing them down to her sides, noticing the now empty space beside of her. After another second of just laying there in the bed she opened her eyes, sat up and frowned as she stared down at the empty space. She distinctly remembered Trevor carrying her in the bedroom the night before. She also remembered him helping her into one of his tee-shirts, crawling into the bed beside of her and tucking her into his side. She resisted at first, told him that this was uncalled for but the stupid cowboy just ignored her. He told her to go to sleep that all he wanted to do right then was hold her. She felt his hand slowly caress the length of her arm and in seconds, she’d drifted off into la la land. So, she wondered, if he’d been here last night when she fell asleep, where in the hell did he go? They were going back home today, Trevor had said as much. And after what happened last night with Aaron, Trina didn’t argue. For once she was actually looking forward to going home. Aaron would never change, that much was clear. Her best bet was to get as far away from as she possibly could and just forget about the man that wasted two years of her life. Standing up, she stretched again and felt a dull throbbing in her cheek from where Aaron had smacked her. That had been the biggest shock. She knew that Aaron walked his own path and that he was an arrogant and cocky SOB, but never would she have thought him capable of raising his hand to her in anger. Boy, it looked like she’d been blinded about so many things when it came to the man that Aaron really was. All she was the charming act that he put on for her day after day. Luckily Joe saw through the act before she did something monumentally stupid like marry the jerk. Not wanting to think about Aaron anymore, Trina slipped on a pair of jeans, walked out of the bedroom and was instantly assaulted by the savory aroma of bacon. She followed the scent all the way to the compact kitchen where she found a shirtless Trevor standing guard over the stove. Sneak Peak... Coming soon.
