Love previews at the theater! So, please consider watching this trailer for “The Bully Project”. Before you do, realize that the trailer begins with the most severe result that can occur with bullying – suicide. Also realize it ends with a message of hope and illustrates how any community can put good action to use for youth where they live. Tomorrow night’s movie is a 45-minute EDITED version of the full-length feature that reduces exposure to that tragedy, eliminates language that required an original R-rating but our version retains and highlights the message of hope and opportunity to affect positive change. Kirk Smalley, our keynote speaker, will share his personal story of loss but remember that he, too, is focused on hope and positive action. Make no mistake – the tragedy is real and it needs some exposure. After all, the “RPCA” coalition is all about prevention! But we wanted a family friendly event to kick off the school year so that we can all increase our awareness and we can all take positive action. Tomorrow night is largely a celebration of the confidence we have that these two communities - as one - can come together to make a difference in the lives of OUR youth who need help.
