Love this article. I used to allow my kids to play the iPad as a distraction to allow me to get things done. I also had the notion that they were learning something. After trying to communicate with them while playing the device and they wouldnt even look up to make eye contact, i realized how detrimental it is to their social development. They were not happy with me a couple of months ago when I pulled the iPad use for 2 weeks. Now they have to earn 15 minutes of iPad time and can play once a week only. Ive seen such a huge change in their interaction with each other and with other children and use of imagination had soared. Better yet, they dont miss it.....too much! Bye bye iPad!
