Love this time of year. It always reminds me of the need to be vigilant though in how we live our life. When I was younger and was taught our Creation story, it was told to me how the Creator went about creating the beauty that belongs to this earth and in doing so He asked the trees to help and assist him by putting their good thoughts into everything He was creating. Twice He came back to them only to find they had fallen asleep. He asked the winds to blow and wake them up. He asked them again to help and assist him with their good thoughts as He continued to go about creating more and more. When He returned the third time and found them asleep, He once again asked the winds to wake them up. This time He instructed them that since they had fallen asleep He would allow them a time of the season where they could go to their rest and the winds would blow until their leaves were gone. Then at another season the winds would again begin to blow and wake them up. For the trees who had stayed awake. He gave them the ability to hold medicine for the human beings who would come along later in the time of creation. Those trees we call evergreens because they stay awake all year long and those are trees we go to for medicine.
