Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly’’ There is no burden as heavy as the one imposed by culture and religion and it is not the kind of burden anyone can bear because that burden stifles the potentials of many; erodes their identity; strips them of their originality and dignity and make them apologize for seeking to live out their lives. How I wish our world can get to that level where people can become emancipated from their mental slavery and be free to become the best they can ever be? How I wish more real men would free more real women to manifest at the highest level without insecurity. Our fore fathers in the 10th generation have really tried creating a family system that worked for them and we must praise them for it however the 21st century man must realize the man in the 10th generation lived purely in a state of nature where he was never exposed or educated and never saw the internet or computer. Infact he practiced traditional religion in most cases and acquired women as war booty while children to him were tools for building family business yet many of us still want to depend on the wisdom of the man in the 10th generation to build a 21st century family? I think we must all come to terms with the fact that we have lived with a lot of errors and humble ourselves to rediscover the ultimate man and woman created in God’s image and his likeness. Why don’t you look at your life this morning and ask how much of God’s image do you reflect? Whatever mindset you have that stifles the potentials of another under whatever guise can never be godly. Are you still a reflection of God’s image or you now reflect your culture & religion? To be continued I honour you
