The good thing about lies however is that it creates a vacuum in the heart of the people that only the truth can fill. That is why loads of people who lie on red carpet with photogenic smiles soon withdraw to a closet of despondency and secret tears once the paparazzis disappear because they know the soul is searching for the love and happiness that red carpet would never be able to give. Yesterday I asked us to define a few concepts and ascertain the source of our beliefs and I am so glad at many of us that were honest enough to own up about how we have never bothered to research some of these concepts. Someone said to me that he was embarrassed that after 42years of existence in life he has never bothered to look up the true meaning of manhood from the dictionary or even researched the subject because he naturally assumed he knew who a man was. Until our definition of a concept is based on truth we would subject others to all sorts of pain and that is why it is good to discover the truth so that we can become free. Contrary to what many have been taught over time the concept of manhood especially from the first narration of creation by the author of the book of Genesis has got nothing to do with gender but everything to do with humanity. ‘Come let us make man in our image’ had nothing to do with the male gender because the original translation actually read ‘Come let us make mankind in our image’ and that was why the next thing God said was ‘and let THEM have dominion’. If every man understands this then our perception of ourselves and how we relate with women would change. And by the way there is no way you can truly retain your true manhood when you no longer reflect the image of God. Are you truly a man? I honour you. To becontinued
