Lovely bird! Huge wing span on the different raptors. So far here on my Veranda, before it was enclosed were a Redtail Hawk, at my feet when i opened the kitchen door and a Coopers Hawk sitting on the cabinet...both drawn by the hens who were hovering very close to me and the back of the U-shape, yelling, Hawk, which brought me out to them to see what was wrong. Now that all my space is enclosed, it would be more rare to be right with any of the raptors. The wingspan on both was totally awsome as they spread wing and flew out between the posts set wide enough for a lift truck to move bulk boxes onto trucks. I had to hang bells, windchimes, and hanging baskets to take away raptor sized openings to protect the free-ranging hens who would come rest in safety on the porch here once fed and contented. Would have loved to have a camera when the hawks visited. They were not at all detered by the human. I guess they figured if other birds are welcome and feel safe, they were good to perch and watch for any hens to break rank and make a run for it. I talked to them and told them to go. Their place was the sky and hunting in other parts of the Land.....
