Lovely day out at Oatley where the club last had a show in 2007 (in the same scout hall). Nice venue, not hard to get to (once you realise there are no right hand turns off King Georges Road). Pigs and I suffered a bit from our own personal climate change - it was warm and humid and were used to freezing winds and sub-zero temperatures at night. Trip up wasnt so great - heavy smoke all through the Southern Highlands almost to Campbelltown, it was like smog and near the Bargo turn off you can see why they closed the Hume there. Its all black and scorched across the road, even the signs are blackened and the paint has melted off one of those blue signs. And so many kangaroos and wombats dead as road kill though there was one living roo sitting in the middle of the Federal near Bungendore I had to dodge around. Kudos to Sarina Etherington, judge, for getting us all done and dusted by 3pm so we could drive home by daylight and have a fighting chance of seeing the roos.
