Lowhorn personally scouts opponents as he vows to atone for opening loss FOR Barangay Ginebra import Dior Lowhorn, it’s not just about playing but knowing your opponents as well. The burly import was spotted at ringside of Smart Araneta Coliseum Friday night watching the doubleheader pitting Globalport and Alaska, and Petron against Rain or Shine. Lowhorn told Spin.ph he is there to primarily see how the Batang Pier, Elasto Painters, and the Aces play – three teams which the Kings have yet to meet in the short elimination round of the season-ending meet. "We played half of the teams in the preseason, but it is still different to see them play in an actual game," said the amiable former Asean Basketball League (ABL) import. "As an import and a newcomer to a league, you have to find the best possible means to know your opponents," added Lowhorn, who in between the interview would whisper a few things to his driver Gene Jamisola. Spin.ph was told it was Lowhorn himself who insisted to watch the games rather than spend his idle time in his condo in Ortigas. "Nagulat nga ako kasi biglang nag-aya kanina. Gusto daw niyang makita `yung laro nung tatlong teams," said Jamisola, who admitted Lowhorn is the first of the several imports he had served to have personally scouted opponents by watching the games. The outgoing import also did some scouting on Rain or Shine bangers Beau Belga and JR Quinahan, visibly impressed to see the two big men hit baskets from long range. "Wow, they can shoot long bombs," he said with amazement. Lowhorn, meanwhil,e vowed a different Ginebra will show up for its game against Meralco this Saturday. "Yeah, we were trying to regroup. Our first game was a lesson for all of us. This is a short conference so we really have to strive hard to win as many games as we can," he said. Lowhorn also expressed delight for having hooked up with the country’s most popular ballclub. "It’s a privilege to be playing for Ginebra. It’s like a national team," he said. "I only played one game but it’s wild, it’s loud it’s like playing a college game. I am excited to play more games with this team. "Hopefully we get our first win tomorrow (Saturday). It’ a short tournament. We can’t afford to go 0 and 2."
