Lt. Governor lauds PBMC officials for erecting PVC Memorial in record time Port Blair, Sept. 20: Impressed with the execution of the Param Veer Chakra Memorial at Marina Park, the Lt Gen A K Singh (Retd), Lt. Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, invited the team of the Port Blair Municipal Council for Tea at Raj Niwas on Saturday. The PBMC team was led by Shri K Ganeshan, Chairperson of the Council. Appreciating the team for completing the Param Veer Chakra Memorial in record time, the Lt Governor called upon PBMC officials to work with utmost dedication, honesty and render efficient public services. He motivated the officials to take up bigger projects of the Council. The Lt Governor suggested the PBMC to avail grants offered under various schemes of the government for major projects of the Council particularly projects like development of Gandhi Park as a one-day destination, Redevelopment of Marina Park, e-governance and other infrastructural projects. He asked the Chairperson of the Council to list out such projects and send them to the concerned Ministry through the Administration. Taking feedback from the delegation, the Lt. Governor instructed the Secretary to LG to direct concerned officials of the Administration for revision of A & N Islands Municipal Regulations 1994 and also fix up meetings with concerned agencies for early shifting of the Ice Plant near Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex at Aberdeen. The PBMC delegation assured the Lt.
