Lucia Vega Jimenez has passed to the spirit world. She took steps to end her own life while in custody of Canadian Border Services awaiting deportation to Mexico. News of her passing has been buzzing in the community for some time and has only now been made public. There has been much speculated and discussed in the past few days, including a call for full, transparent and independent civilian inquiry and investigation, a petition (which I just signed see below and sign yourself), and there is a vigil planned tomorrow in Vancouver, Coast Salish territory.
