Lucky win of the 50 km Ultramarathon-race close to Chiang - TopicsExpress

Lucky win of the 50 km Ultramarathon-race close to Chiang Mai/Thailand :) This is a video designed to encourage you to start running again or to increase your distances. Based in Vientiane, Laos I spontaneously signed up for a long distance run in Ban Tham village, 4 hours west of Chiang Mai, Thailand only 3 weeks before it was due to commence. I enjoyed my journey from preparation to the actual race, which had an absolutely stunning countryside with mountains and beautiful valleys and caves. As you can see in the video I had to build up my long distance running pretty quickly within 3 weeks up to 3 hours to survive the 6 hour run. Carb loading, steady pace, constant eating and drinking during the race, motivational words on my arms, motivational talking and great music in my ears, thinking of all wishes from my friends and family but overall enjoying the amazing nature were keys to my 6 hour run. I was a lucky winner passing the two guys in front of me only because they struggled with hydration and legs and like to dedicate this win to my dad, who brought me into running and did 8 marathons himself (it was my 8th marathon/ultra). Once again, I feel inspired and take action in signing up for a race, distance does not matter but the longer it is, the more challenging it is and the bigger your outcome.
