Lucy still in HDU, not a good day. Unfortunately the central line was not in the right place so had to be removed. This meant attempting to insert a cannula - an almost impossible task. The Staff at the Royal London Hospital are aware how difficult it is to insert a cannula in Lucys thin and scarred veins so always insert a central or picc line. Experienced staff and anaesthetists have made in excess of 20 attempts per day since Thursday. So poor Lucy is having a rough time with pain which is not being managed very successfully. I am keeping everything crossed that tomorrow will be a better day. Please keep Lucy in your thoughts tonight. Love Kate xxx
