Luis Suarez may have left Liverpool, but the impact he had on players still at the club will result in him having a lasting legacy, says Brendan Rodgers - “The top players help develop the younger players. I see the attitude of some of the young players because of the likes of Luis and Steven who are at it 150% every day. “I think Luis will leave a legacy here. “I know young Phil has learned from him, he wants to be out training every day, never wants to miss a day, fights in training and wants to improve. I know Luis was a big influence on him.” And Rodgers harbours no ill will towards Suarez - “I don’t think as a club Liverpool could have done more. We gave him support. He was a great servant here. “We helped propel him from a player some people may not have heard about, to a world-class player. “It was time for both to part, and we will continue to grow and get stronger and we thank him for his contribution. “He will always be a friend of Liverpool’s. He is a real good man. We wish him well. “He would get a great reception if he came back here in the Champions League. Every time he stepped out on to the field, he gave his life for the team.”
