Luke 11 Chapter-Up • Jesus gave his disciples a pattern for prayer that showed God as a loving heavenly Father. (Luke 11:1-13) • When Jesus cast out the demon from the man who was mute, some in the crowd accused him of getting his power from Satan and others asked for a sign from heaven. Jesus answered his critics by pointing out that Satan would not weaken his kingdom by working against himself. Jesus said his presence was the sign they sought. (Luke 11:14-33) • Jesus said those who were open to his message would be able to see the light of his truth. (Luke 11:33:36) • At a dinner Jesus condemned the Pharisees and experts in the law for their lack of interest in righteous attitudes. He said their meticulous adherence to man-made laws was worthless if they overlooked their inner heart attitudes toward God and man. (Luke 11:37-52) • After Jesus pronounced three woes on the Pharisees and experts in the law, they became furious and sought ways to trap him. (Luke 11:53-54)
