Luke 22:39-53 In deed our Lord had to put on flesh to identify with our frailty. He knows us. Pray that you will not fall into temptation implies that no matter the time, shape or size of temptation we need the Fathers help and support to overcome as we resolve to identify with the Fathers will no matter the circumstance. To know and understand the will of the Father is vital, to keep a cordial relationship is also vital, to resolve to do his will is very important. The strength to overcome must come from His presence as we turn to Him in trouble times. His death and resurrection fulfilled Gods eternal plan for mans redemption. Think of it 1. He became overwhelmed by the burden and challenge of death and the agony of crucification. What do you do when you face challenges? Often times panic without prayer. 2. He was in touch and tune with the Father through prayer. Strength came from above. Do you always get lonely with God away from crowd to straighten out issues of life? 3. He had known the reason for his coming from the beginning But wearing the human frame made him ask Father if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done. I cannot do without you, O God. There are times we must sincerely pray more than the routine, if we sleep instead, we fall to temptation but if we pray to the Father as we should, strength, courage, wisdom and help comes to spur us to victory because God is with us always as we seek Him It is all about being sensitive to understand the time and seasons in the Spirit. Knowing and doing the right thing while keeping track with the Father Get up and pray, so that you will not fall into temptation is relevant to the christian in todays Nigeria.
