Luke Chapter 16: The Rich Man and Lazarus The Rich Man and Lazarus Luke Chapter 16 : 19-31 Luke 16 19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich mans table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abrahams bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my fathers house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. Fully Conscience In Hell! Luke 16:19-31 (Rich Man) There are a lot of religions that dont preach a literal Hell. It is real and we need to realize that it is real. 41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. (Hell was created for the Devil and His angels. So it was never Gods intent for any one to go to Hell. But Sin! You have a choice whether or not you will go to Hell or not. Your rejection of Christ as your Savior will seal your fait in Hell.) 1. See in Hell (Verse 23) You will see those that are in Hell. You will see the pain and despair on faces of those that are there. You will see the horror that is there. You will see the worm that dies not. You will see those around you screaming for someone to get them out of this place. 2. Feel in Hell (Verse 24) There will be no relief for all eternity. You will burn but never burn up. It will be a constant burning. You will feel the pain and suffering of all the times your rejected Christ as your Savior. You will long for relief and there will be none. *** You can miss Hell by accepting Christ as your Savior *** 3. Remember in Hell (Verse 25) You will remember all the times you were told about Christ. You will remember rejecting Christ. As the Rich Man, you will remember! There is only pleasure for a season, and there will come a time when it will be gone. You have the chance right now to accept Jesus as your Savior. Dont put it off. Today is the day of Salvation. Romans 10 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. I pray that you will accept Christ today as your Savior.
