Lunch break thought of the day Great news friends!!! After entering Toys R Us the second largest toy distributer in America owned by a private equity firm with revenues over $14 Billion p/year I passed by several minimum wage employees all working hard under CEO Gerald Storch who paid himself $7.9 million last year and thought about his 11,000 square foot mansion. As I started to look for the video game Grand Theft Auto, the most violent and morally questionable mainstream video game available in America, I walked past toy guns, the serial killer and dream demon figures of Freddy Krueger complete with his glove of knives he uses to murder teenagers with in horrible ways, past the childsplay chucky doll, next to the Barbie dolls that give young girls unrealistic expectations about their bodies and self image and walked towards the register past all of the stuffed teddy bears and clothing items made from imported Uzbekistan cotton. Cotton that relies on state orchestrated forced slave labor of ten year old children and punishes those children with torture to purchase my game. Guess what? No Breaking Bad dolls! They removed them after a Florida mom started a petition! Woo hoo! Selective outrage wins again! The world is a better place now!
