Lung Diagnosis Update: So I started seeing the Drs out at UT and met with my new Dr. This morning she had a chance to go over my results and all my tests from prior lung reports. The diagnosis I was given by the Surgeon was non specific interstitial pneumonia I do have that but I found out today that it is a side effect of the Primary disease Of Pulmonary Fibrosis. Thats the one thing we were hoping out of everything that it would not be. There is no cure for Pulmonary Fibrosis we essentially will be treating the symptoms but no cure for the disease. It will get worse as I get older so guess its good we know now to start a treatment plan early. I have to go to a hematologist tomorrow for a full blood work up. But so far that I have been able to find no family history of lung disease and I have never smoked a day in my life. I do like that the Drs are going to try to avoid steroids as much as poss though I will likely start out on a type of chemo med and see how that helps but cant start that for a few weeks still.
