Lutherans affirm with Scripture that baptism saves (1 Peter 3:21). - TopicsExpress

Lutherans affirm with Scripture that baptism saves (1 Peter 3:21). Thus baptism is necessary for salvation. Some Protestants say Lutherans are heretics because they believe in baptismal regeneration and infant baptism. Some Reformed will throw Lutherans out of their FB group with they dare talk about baptismal regeneration. They jump when Lutherans says baptism is necessary for salvation but they are delighted when we agree with them that good works are necessary for Christians. They are necessary in the same sense that it is expected or natural in the way God intended it. Likewise it is necessary for the sun to shine. The sun shines without any coercion. Can you imagine if the sun does not shine? But many apparently can accept baptisms that do not save, even when Scripture says so. Ironic isnt it? So keep calm and be a Lutheran.
