Luật nhập khẩu thú cưng vào Úc được điều chỉnh và sẽ có hiệu lực từ tháng 12 năm 2013. Theo luật mới được điều chỉnh, thời hạn quarantine sẽ được giảm xuống từ 30 đến 10 ngày. Sau khi đến nước được duyệt để hoàn thiện hồ sơ kỹ thuật, thú cưng hoàn toàn có thể được trở về Việt Nam và ở đến khi gần đủ thời hạn để trở về Úc. Thú cưng bắt buộc phải ở nước thứ ba được duyệt ít nhất 45 ngày trước khi về Úc. New import conditions when applying for an import permit for your dog or cat come into effect from 2 December 2013. Under the new conditions the minimum post-arrival quarantine stay will be reduced from 30 days to 10 days. PET FROM VIETNAM – NON APPROVED COUNTRY TO AUSTRALIA The importation of cats and dogs from a Department of Agriculture non-approved country can only occur indirectly via a Department of Agriculture approved country. If you intend to import cats and dogs indirectly via an approved country, you must first contact the quarantine service in the approved country to ensure that cats and dogs are eligible for entry. Cats and dogs must meet all of the pre and post-entry quarantine requirements of the approved country. To meet Australia’s import requirements Cats and dogs must be prepared (tested and vaccinated) in, and exported from, an approved country. The cat or dog does not need to remain in the approved country. The cat or dog may return to a non-approved country after the initial rabies vaccination and testing and then return to the approved country when final preparations are required, prior to export. The cat or dog must be exported from an approved country to be eligible to come to Australia and the competent veterinary authority in the approved country of export must sign the relevant paperwork. There are no exceptions to this requirement. Cats and dogs must meet all of the Department of Agriculture import conditions that apply to the approved country before being eligible for import into Australia. All vaccinations, blood samples and blood testing required by the Department of Agriculture must be conducted by a veterinarian approved by the government in the approved country. The Department of Agriculture will not accept any pre-export vaccinations, blood samples or blood testing completed in a non approved country.
