Lydia and I delivered the axe as Ulfric asked. Unfortunately Balgruuf returned it to me. He has chosen to side with the Imperials against us. We returned to Ulfric and he too seemed saddened by this news. We told Galmar and he encouraged Ulfric to attack Whiterun and take it by force. After some convincing Ulfric agreed. He wants me on the front line with Galmar. Thus we went to the healers and had them restore us of our weariness. I told Lydia she need not come. I knew her loyalties may be conflicted. But the lass insisted. Shes got a strong fire in her. And skills to match. So here we sit here in the pre-dawn mists shrouding Whiterun. Sharpening our baldes for the battle.
