Lyme Disease has become pandemic. Were concerned about Ebola - - TopicsExpress

Lyme Disease has become pandemic. Were concerned about Ebola - which is important, but meanwhile hundreds of thousands - millions in-fact, are actually at war with a devastating infection that has long been on our shores for years now. The U.S. government and the medical community has said it Isnt a problem. The disease is in Europe, Australia, Africa, North America, China - and more. Is that a problem? It has been identified in 80 countries in the world. It is a silent war. The IDSA, CDC, ANA and many other societies say its not a problem, that Chronic Lyme Disease doesnt exist, and that typical Lyme Disease is easy to treat and 95% of people get better. How are we supposed to believe that figure? Show me a study that demonstrates that. The CDC then said We underestimated the problem. So let me get this straight. You claim 30,000 cases per year and the actual figure is 300,000 (Even this figure is suspect), thats a little more than underestimate. Thats just flat out incompetence and an unwillingness to deal with a problem that patients like myself have been crying out for over the last 15-30 years. Meanwhile friends, family, co-workers, are getting sick and the doctors tell them Youre fine, nothings wrong - or they diagnose them with some syndrome or auto-immune condition. If you test positive, youre lucky if theyll even accept it as a true positive. Usually if the test is negative, they say You definitely dont have Lyme but if the test is positive theyll often say Its a false positive. So you tell me - does that make sense to you? Are you seeing some of your friends and family (or people they know) getting sick with Lyme Disease (Or misdiagnosed, but later find out its Lyme Disease)? So now you have a disease that is out of control and no one in a position of authority willing to stop it, nevermind admit it - many are getting sick, the medical community still wont treat you properly (if at all), and you have tests to detect the infection that have an accuracy of about 50%. You may as well flip a coin. In-fact your odds are better with a coin, because if it lands heads up, no one is going to argue with you that its a false-heads-up. Then you have to contemplate the fact that Lyme Disease is immuno-suppressive - it does damage to the immune system, and so the antibody titers in sicker patients often dont even show up. So they test negative. Take note that if you give these negative testing patients antibiotics, often a month later the test will light up like a Christmas tree. The doctors will just say False positive, or theyll say - oh you must have just gotten it. The rash shows up about 50% of the time, and it doesnt always take on the typical Bulls-eye that the medical community claims. Then you have the fact that Lyme Disease mimics over 100 medical conditions, and is often misdiagnosed. I wont even get into the co-infections that ticks carry which often are transmitted with Lyme Disease. They significantly worsen the individuals health, and make it much harder to recover from the Lyme Disease itself Could it be anymore complicated you might be thinking? The answer is yes. Ive barely scratched the surface in this post. So I ask the most obvious question. When is it a problem?
