(M) Today is a day which I will never forget. Today the Supreme Court affirmed that I am not a second class citizen, and that my relationship isn’t less valid than anyone else’s. Despite the opposition from the four men who probably won’t even be around in 20 years, five of our justices did the right thing. This fight isn’t about granting marriage equality to LGBT people. It’s about ending marriage discrimination. Today the Supreme Court dealt a major blow to marriage discrimination. I rarely get this upset, but there are tears in my eyes right now. I don’t need validation from the courts to know that my relationship isn’t inferior to anyone else’s, but I am incredibly grateful that the Supreme Court did the right thing today. Equality doesn’t exist until we all have it, and today we took another huge step towards equality for everyone. As a nation, we should all feel proud.
