MACOPA A. Background of the study According to some researches,60% of worlds cause of death are diseases.Even Filipinos average life span would only reach to 60-70.In effort to this, medical companies introduced us with several vitamin supplements to lessen the risk of various illness like cancer whick leads to early death.Vitamin supplements as claimed by doctors,are actually cannot cure diseases.This study is concieved with hope and inspiration to create a study about Macopa juice.Macopa or others may call wax jumboo and java apple is a tropical tree growing vastly in countries like malaysia and phil.Thefruit is a bell-shaped edible berry with colors ranging from white,pale green,green,red,purple etc. Astudy in Hawaii showed nutritional value of macopa.The study claimed that the fruit contains protien,sugars,and an appreciable amount of calcium,phosphorus,B1,B2 and B3. B. Statement of the Problem This study aims to make a juice out of macopa extract.It has specific problems to be answered. 1.) Is the macopa juice acceptable in terms of odor,color and taste? 2.) Can macopa juice be a substitute drink? C. Hypotheses 1.) Macopa juice is acceptable in terms of odord,color and taste 2.)Macopa juice can be a substitute drink D. Significance of the study Macopa trees are commonly grown in tropical countries like Phil.Even in provences, macopa trees are widely known.Because it is so common,people have taken it for granted.This study came to realization that people have to take importance on the things,htey usually took for granted. Macopa fruits are filled with vitamins more than people ever know and because of this,the researcher sought way to make th fuit more useful and one way of this is through extracting into juice. This study also is a grate help for people to have an alternative way of having vitamin supplement since averything we eat and drink exposed to chemicals. In the developement of this study, it is necessary to read books and researches on this subject matter. The following are some of these literatures which are found relevant.Macopa is a tropical tree growing to 12m tall,with evergreen leaves 10.25cm long and 5-10cm broad.The flowers are white ,2.5cm diameter.with 4 petals and numerous stamens.The fruit is a bell-shaped edible berry with colors ranging from white,pale green,green,red,purple,crimson,to deep purple or even black.4-6cm long in wild plants.In Cambodia,decoction of fruit,leaves and seed used for fever and in Puerto Rico,its fruit is used for making table wines.Study showed that it has an antiflamatory property.Flavan-3-ols isolated from some medicinal plants inhibiting COX-1 and COX-2 catalyzed prostagland in biosynthesis: S malaccense was one of 4 plants tested that were traditionally used for inflamatory conditions. A. Preparation Macopa fruits will be gathered.Then blender,knife,strainer,chopping board,weighing scale,beakers and some containers will be gathered. B. The making of Juice A 1 kg macopa fruit is chopped.Only the edible part is chopped and will be then put to the blender.Then it will be strain so only the extract will be left.And it will be then measured and put in a container. C. Testing of the product To test the product,the respondentswill then taste or drink it,smell and evaluate it. D. Observation The evaluation will be put in a table and it will be tallied to know its result according to the respondents reactions. Findings,Conclusion and Recomendation Base on the summary and findings, the researcher concluded that macopa extract can be a great substitute as a vitamin juice. Further studies about the fruit as juice supplement is necessarily recommended for improvements.
