MAD MARTINS - PLEDGE MUSIC CAMPAIGN. Plans are moving forward for the completion of my Mad Martins project in collaboration with my good friend Keith Armstrong / Keith Armstrong and other friends. A large proportion of the songs, poems and linking narration pieces were recorded last year at the studios of Awake!music produced by my good friend and previous collaborator (on, for example, Reflections on War) Iain Petrie. Towards the end of last, however, the project was put on temporary hiatus due to my own personal circumstances but things are picking up again and our aim is to wrap up the recording sessions ASAP in order for an official release and launch of the project later this year. Lots of plans and preparations are being made (including a new Mad Martins website - as with all of this, this is all my own work at my own expense) and the last phase of recording will feature a variety of guest musicians, etc. BUT - we need your (my FRIENDS) help to get us over the final hurdle, which is why I am setting up a Pledge Music campaign. I will posting more messages about this across the internet and copying and pasting this into various NOTES and other pages on Facebook, etc, but this is my first posting, as follows, about my ideas for the Pledge campaign. If you are interested in participating in this, please read on, if not, then please ignore (thats OK!): These are my own current PLEDGE MUSIC ideas for how people can contribute funds by pledging to buy the following items/services - please come forward and offer feedback, thoughts, advice, suggestions, so I can get this right - Thanks!: 1) the acoustic guitar I have used for the recording sessions and for writing all the songs (and a veteran of 100s of Whisky Priests concerts) - SIGNED! 2) Bonus CD professionally packaged with artwork of Home Demos, Early Mixes alternate versions, etc. AND/OR: 3) Bonus CD professionally packaged with artwork of solo acoustic home demo versions of songs from The Whisky Priests (official) back catalogue chosen by YOU, the fans/friends. AND/OR: 4) Bonus CD professionally packaged with artwork of solo acoustic home demo versions of trad arr. songs / cover versions. 5) Finished Mad Martins NEW double CD and book PLUS exclusive T-shirt. 6) A set of 3 accompanying CD singles professionally packaged with artwork (one for each Mad Martin brother) each with exclusive bonus tracks not featured on the final album track list. 7) Signed framed hand-written lyrics of songs on the album. 8) House Gigs - I will come and perform a live concert for you in your own home (invite your friends!). Plus - you get to pick the exact set list made up of songs you have chosen from my entire back catalogue (Whisky Priests, Mad Dogs & Englishmen, Solo, etc). NB: This could also include a unique one-off T-shirt printed with artwork AND the immortal line Gary Miller played a live concert at my home on (add date). Plus - a video recording of the performance on DVD and/or some kind of digital format of your choice. ALSO - I would be top for an optional after gig party whereby you can take me out for a few drinks on the town afterwards and let me stay at your house for bed and breakfast! I promise to be well behaved! [Yeah, right!!!]. Maybe even throw in a signed framed photo from the night. 9) Skype Gigs - as above but beamed from my home to your home (without the after-gig party of course!). And perhaps the most interesting of all (remember I have lots of experience doing these kind of things through my work on community arts project over the last few years): 10) I write and record an original song for you - you even get to choose the theme of the song. I will record a good quality demo of the song for you and you will get a copy of it to keep (in whatever format(s) you prefer). This could also include a hand-written and framed copy of the lyrics - signed. 11) Similar to the above but for any budding songwriters - You get to co-write and record your own song with me. i.e., I will come to your house (or location of your choosing) with portable recording equipment and spend a whole days with you writing and recording a song with you (NB: as stated above, I have lots of experience doing this through my community arts work over the last 10 years). You would get a copy of the song on CD and/or other digital format(s). And again, this could also include a hand-written and framed copy of the lyrics - signed, plus signed and framed photo(s) from the day and maybe even a DVD recording of the days events. and finally: 12) Exclusive Mad Martins memorabilia (such as T-shirts, mugs, mouse mats, beer mats, etc) 13) Entry to a raffle of selected items to be confirmed.
