MAJOR FIRE AVERTED The possibility of a major fire was averted this afternoon in Codrington Hill St. Michael. Around 14 minutes past two, four officers from the Fire Services Probyn Street headquarters, responded to reports of a blaze which was affecting a nearby nursery. On arrival they discovered that it was only a pile of burning rubbish. Speaking to CBC, Fire Officer Andre Bourne explained that rubbish fires are common around this time. However, he urged Barbadians to be extremely cautious whenever burning items.
