Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin S. Binay said the operations are being done regularly to keep the city’s drainage and waterways free-flowing and prevent flooding especially in low-lying barangays. “It is a regular program of the city government to make our drainage and waterways free from all kinds of obstructions, whether silt or garbage, so that floodwater could flow freely and swiftly,” Binay said. Binay said that the city’s drainage system is effectively working and could remove floodwaters in the streets in 30 minutes, except in extremely heavy rainfall when it may take longer. Gil Puyat Avenue, Dela Rosa Street, Jacinto Street, Facundo Street, Javier Street, Villar Street, Pierce Street, Hoover Street, Roosevelt Street, E.
