MAKEY MAKEY: Students at Stevens Elementary School are making good use of a Makey Makey invention kit donated to the school. Several 5th and 6th grade students presented some of their ideas during the May 2 First Friday event at Bella Cova Family Store (pictured). These included a video game, a sign language helper, and even a program that uses beets (the vegetable) to make beats (music). The Makey Makey has been used to make a see it, say it jump ladder in P.E., a paper piano in music class and more. Stevens students are also hoping to raise enough money to start an electronic music club next year.
