MAKING LIFE WORK. Intro: - Life is dynamic and requires agility in order to work. - There are principles that govern and guarantee successful living. - The major difference between those that have succeeded and the rest is what they know. - Knowledge is powerful. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. - Simply put, your level of freedom in all spheres of life is commensurate to your level of knowledge in God. - It is the truth that you know that ultimately makes you free. - Your way of life reflects you level of knowledge. - Exposure leads to a change of lifestyle and behavior. - For life to work: you need God ;you need friends (good people) :but above all you need timeless principles to guide you. You see, for life to work you must. 1. Take chances. - Somebody said that opportunity will knock only once. - Another one said: you got only one chance to make the first impression. - You must take chances seriously. Maximize on the moments. - Where you are should be viewed as a chance. Please make a difference. I returned and saw under the sun that— The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all. (Ecclesiastes 9:11 NKJV - The world is competitive with few chances and opportunities. We must maximize on chances. 2. Make the right choices. - We are a sum total of the choices we make in life. - Positive living is the result of positive choices. - Making the right choice in whom to hang out and who to drop. - Making the right choice in what business deal to take and which one to ignore. Proverbs 12:15 ESV The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice. - Maybe you need o ask God to help you make the right choices. 3. Make the necessary changes. - One must be flexible enough to adjust to the changing circumstances of life. - Adjusting and making necessary changes in life gives you advantage in life. Romans 12:1-2 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. - You see, it is so easy to conform rather than being different. - We must be willing to embrace positive change that starts with the renewing of our minds. - Lasting change starts in the mind. 4. Overcome challenges. - Someone said, that if hands you lemon make lemonade out of it. - You must remain optimistic in the midst of storms and challenges. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— (II Corinthians 4:8, 9 NKJV) - You shall overcome. - Whatever you going through will not destroy you for you are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus.
