MALAGA GROUP WEATHER UPDATE Sunday 10th August 2014: Good day to you all and hope you had a lay in today!!!......Its Sunday after all and a hot one at that!!!.....In case youve forgotten or hadnt seen it there is in force today a YELLOW ALERT from AEMET for high temperatures across the coastline of Malaga Province for the Sol y Guadalhorce & Axarquia weather reporting areas. Temperatures are likely to be up to 38 degrees according to the warning. as some of you may know, most inland areas are not really going to feel different but those coastal towns might just sweat today!!!......I cant say if there will be sea mist or not as it remains unpredictable but if you see mist there is and if you dont there isnt......simples!!!......Regional winds light and local winds blustery up the valleys!!!......And this is pretty much your weather into the coming week until Wednesday although the temperatures will reduce.....slightly!!!.....Come Thursday we risk seeing the start of some cloud cover moving in that is marking a possible change in our weather. I mentioned this yesterday and at this time we remain on watch for possible mucky stuff next weekend but as is often the case this could change this time of year!!!.....Needless to say, stay tuned and I will update you when I dry out!!!.......Not going to bang on today about Bertha as its too late and it is very much a case of what will be will be but those of you, like me, in its path do keep your eyes peeled to your respective national weather services and above all, stay safe, sound and dry!!!.....Do share your conditions though if the group stay quite locally and free of any Spanish emergency event.....I will be :) .......And talking of Spain and local information, I picked up on some figures yesterday with regards to calls to the 112 Emergency Services for Andalucia as a whole.....Now do remember that Andalucia is made up of Huelva, Seville, Cadiz, us in Malaga, Granada, Almeria, Jaén and Cordoba Provinces.......and so far this year in the first six months the Andalucian 112 call centres have taken 3,345 calls from expats in other languages other than Spanish (English, French, German or Arabic).....Of these 3,345 calls 81.72% of the calls have been for English Speakers.......Moral of the story; Dont be afraid to call 112 in an emergency......you wont be the first and they speak your language!!!.......Have a great day folks and just make sure you survive the day.......and dont forget to tune into Bay Radio from 1pm onwards, the largest English radio network on the Costa Blanca, Murcia and up to Valencia. If your not from that there parts you can listen live on the web at bayradio.fm/listen-live/ .......Apparently some smart arse of a weather man is being interviewed on it today at 1. 15 ish!!!......Jim Fraser for the EiALERT NETWORK practicing his speech :)
