MALAGA GROUP WEATHER UPDATE Thursday 15th January 2015: Morning all......My word, were up and down like a yo-yo with this weather as we start today with what should be glorious sunshine with just fluffy bits in places!!!......As we head into the afternoon clouds will begin to arrive as a cold front trundles down towards us and as it stands, come late evening that rain, and with it winds, might just be with us before I have my beauty sleep.....not that I need it of course!!!......Looking at whats coming rain wise, it will be enough to get you wet if your out in it but nothing to give concern at the mo.....Those in this group way over on Huelva and deepest Seville will see heavy rain and this could remain heavy into Cadiz so lets just be on our guard I say!!!.....Tomorrow morning we could just wake to the sun showing itself now that the inclement stuff has shifted forward an hour or two, but if the sun isnt there, dont worry, its only around the corner!!!.....We are expecting it to be blustery and we are expecting a fair amount of cloud to remain for inland mountain areas but the sun should shine nicely and even clear on the costa by the afternoon!!!......However, that rain that is destined to fall is from a cold front and cold will now be the operative word as temperatures in the likes of Ronda, Antequera, in fact anywhere inland plummets!!!...........And thats how Saturday is currently looking; clouds inland with sun shining through but relatively clear down along the coastal areas and up that bit in the middle that is the Guadalhorce!!!.......and blinking cold at night to say the least!!!......Now lets talk Sunday.....If you want my honest opinion, stay in bed!!!.....We look to have a real dirty day coming Sunday with much more rain heading in as that Jet Stream thingy we spoke of Yesterday moves over properly!!!.......At this time nothing gives me cause for concern or warning other than the temperatures inland and if you are up on higher ground or well inland, I think you should prepare for the possibility of snow......prepare your car (snow chains ready.....a shovel......blankets......food stuffs etc.) just in case Im right!!!.......This chill will be with us through much of the week and what with this jet stream joining us we could see rain on off throughout its visit and this rain could easily turn to snow on higher ground.......Got this vision in my head now of all those spray tanned TOWIE types buying shovels at Leroys and throwing them in the back of their Porche Cayennes!!!.......Its not gonna snow in Marbs!!!......Might get a tad on Los Reales above Estepona though and the Sierra las Nieves is normally a dead cert for putting its white cap on in this type of weather, and even that great big chunk of rock above Frigliana gets white as well!!!.......If you are planning a trip next week up the Sierra Nevada then be careful and do have snow chains for sure. The Police will not let motorists pass up the road to the Sierra Nevada at times of snow if chains are not fitted!!!.......Come to that, I have even experienced that on the Ronda Road out of San Pedro......Snow chains are relatively cheap.......until it snows.....so do consider getting some if you regard yourself as being in an area that could be affected by the stuff!!!.......So, as we progress through the week I think you get the picture of it being unsettled. The sun will try its best to poke out and say hello and in true Costa del Sol style there may be times of clear sunshine but we will likely be changing this weather forecast due to the unusual behaviour of that jet stream!!!.......As it stands its not until next Thursday afternoon that things should head back to fairer weather giving us a pleasant Friday and an increase in temperatures so fingers crossed on that!!!......Now is a good time to invite more people into the group. Although there is no major threat as yet, the weather can turn very quickly and the more people passing there info into the group the better......Also, weather related photos should be posted on the comments of the weather forecast. Please start a new thread/post a post if it is major info or of another subject of importance to us members......Thank you in advance for your great co-operation on this......Jim Fraser for your EiALERT NETWORK :)
