Australias cricketers and rugby players have recently benefitted from the ousting of a foreign coach and the appointment of an Australian familiar with what it means to represent his nation. Positive results have followed, and national pride has been restored. So will Ange Postecoglous job as Socceroos head coach be half done for him in a similar way, or is Australias talent and technique simply not enough right now to make it a world beater on a far more competitive landscape than either cricket or rugby union provides?
