MALAGA GROUP WEATHER UPDATE Tuesday 7th October 2014: A very good morning again to you all and another fine day ahead yet again with that sunshine blazing down quite nicely with it!!!.....As I write we are alert free across the entire Spanish mainland as a brief spell of what was summer returns to grace us!!!......Tomorrow that sunshine is looking to continue and as we go into Thursday it remains not bad but we are expecting clouds to develop!!!......Friday for me is becoming a bit of a conundrum.....Why???.....because AEMET is forecasting high chance of rain but I cant see it yet!!!!........So, in the absence of seeing that rain for Friday what I can say is this: As of today there is a nasty low pressure weather system pushing down from the Northern Atlantic, over Iceland heading south and is currently looking to park itself on the Irish Coast for a few days!!!......This system is bringing with it a mass of cold air from the Arctic region and did, last week, look to be heading further south towards the northern tip of Spain.....Thankfully its not coming that far but the push of cold air in front of it is currently looking to over-run over the coming week and swing over us over the coming weekend and this is likely to cool our daytime temperatures even more for perhaps Sunday.....Todays Graphic is the forecast model showing the mid air range and the tear-drop of cold air that is currently looking to pass over the Iberian Peninsular over the weekend that will run from west to east!!!.....but its the front of this cold air that is the area to watch as it meets our warm air........this is the point of potential issues that could see some heavy rains......Yes, the initial cause of the possible issue approaching is a Cut-Off Low Pressure system.....a large displaced cold mass of air and often referred to as a Gota Fria here in Spain but at this time what is looking to come our way cannot be regarded as a true Gota Fria but could have similar although much milder effects!!!.....So, I am looking at Sunday for the main rain, Friday may be cloudy but as I write I cannot see anything than a very mild risk of a shower and Saturday is looking cloudy but with sunshine peering through the cracks!!!.......But as always we will keep you updated!!!......So, you have a good few days to get those late gardening chores done, dont arrange any weekend BBQs unless your under cover, and do check those rain water drain outlets/gullies/openings to make sure they are not blocked with leaves or debris again!!!.......Have a great day and as always let your friends, family, neighbours, pubs, clubs and even enemies know where you get your info from and that rain again is likely this coming weekend!!!......Jim Fraser for the EiALERT NETWORK!!!
