MAN and WOMAN have said goodbye to some departing guests, right after closing the door.. WOMAN: No! No! No! Im telling you, no! We are not spending another evening with Mary Ann and Herbert! MAN: Why not? WOMAN: They are loud! They are vulgar; they are ill-bred- MAN: They are not vulgar. Just because she took off her clothes in a living room full of people, what is that? Thats nothing. WOMAN: Ted, they are horrible- MAN: You should be so uninhibited. WOMAN: All I know is eating with them is living Kafka and you know it. Have you ever once said to them I read a book that they read, I saw a movie- MAN: You know what you are? Youre pretentious. The big intellectual arent ya? Why dont you go downtown; you can stay on the corner of State and Randolf at the Christmas season, theres a lot of people you know, yell out: (Mocking) Hey, I read a book once, and saw a foreign movie too. Woo-woo. Big deal. WOMAN: Why dont you give me the car fair? MAN: (Sneering under breath) Right, right. WOMAN: Listen Ted, I am not spending another evening with them; you havent seen gunslinging- MAN: Oh! When was the last time we spent an evening with them? WOMAN: Last night. MAN: (Under breath) Oh yeah. WOMAN: And thats when I made up my mind, they are ruining my life! They are loud; they are vulgar; theyre ill-bred- MAN: Well, Sarah why dont you bring it up to them. POW! Right in the kisser. I couldnt find it online, but I own a very rare audio copy of this blackout sketch, so I pulled out my CD with my Second City book, and copied it word-for-word the best I can.
