MANDALUYONG VERSUS PANGASINAN (Ginebra San Miguel) I dont know if this observation is true here in Bontoc only. One thing that really fascinates me in looking after my aunts store is the preference of buyers on Mandaluyong over Pangasinan. From the consumers side, its because Mandaluyong is more palatable(naimimas) and it doesnt drunk them easily. Compared to pangasinan which is bitter. We confirmed these claims to the dealers(ahente) and they said that there is no such thing as what the consumers claims. Accrdg. to them, the only difference is that they have two manufacturing plants which is mandaluyong and Pangasinan and its just a psychological claim. I started to observe this last year. Now, there is a shortage in the supply of Mandaluyong here in Bontoc. Because of it, other Merchandising operators really have to go to Baguio and some places to get a supply on mandaluyong. One more thing, I found out this time around that mandaluyong is more expensive than pangasinan. Applying my knowledge, I agree with the dealers because San Miguel is but one corporation and they have just one formula in making their gins. It just that they have two plants because one plant cant accommodate all the demand. Due to the insistent demand on mandaluyong, they have to jack up the price of it because they(sanmig. corp.) cant accommodate the demand of it while there is a surplus in the supply of Pangasinan. This is not a validated articel. It is just my opinion. hahaha. and in my opinion, the preference is just but psychological.and it is just because of that mandaluyong thing that gin made in mandaluyong is more expensive than the one from pangasinan hahahahaha
