MANIC MONDAY: It was a Monday to remember for Nick Watney, Luke Donald, Harris English and Lee Westwood. Watney and Donald played their way into the TOUR Championship. In Donald’s case he made a major move (T4) going from 54th to 28th to secure his spot in Atlanta. Watney’s second place finish at the BMW moved him to 12th in the FedExCup standings. On the other side of the coin, English and Westwood were eliminated from the FedExCup playoffs. English finished 50th at Conway Farms, which saw him drop to 31st in the standing. Westwood (67th at the BMW) fell all the way to number 41. English was ranked 28th before the tournament began, while Westwood was #30. As noted in September 12th’s issue of the Daily Pulse, anyone making it to Atlanta automatically entered in the four majors, WGC events, The PLAYERS among other things such as a one-year exemption (not that its needed)! The top five players in the FedExCup standings entering the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola control their own destiny and would claim the FedExCup with a victory at East Lake: 1. Tiger Woods 2.
