MANILA – A new tropical cyclone is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this week, state weather bureau PAGASA said Monday. In an interview on dzMM, PAGASA forecaster Jun Galang said the tropical depression was spotted 500 kilometers northeast of Guam and could enter PAR either on Tuesday or Wednesday. Galang said the tropical depression could intensify further as it remains over water. Once it enters PAR, it will be named "Huaning." The cyclone remains too far to directly affect any part of the country. Galang said it could hit the northern tip of the Philippines. Meanwhile, PAGASA, in its 24-hour weather forecast for Monday, said Ilocos region, Mimaropa, Western Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.
