****MANNERS ARE HER SPECIALTY**** From a Queens street to a cage at Manhattan ACC—would make anybody’s head spin. But not our sweetie, Dakota! Though really scared, this 2 year old put on her very best manners for her intake medical—a medical that found no significant health problems but sadly, some old scars. And then it came time for her behavioral eval… can we say she was a bit excited at finally getting out of that cage! She figured that the tag game was really a tug of war and couldn’t understand why the assessor didn’t like it when she jumped up to lick him. But she did fine on the other items and the assessor noted “playful and appropriate with both male and female dogs”. But now she’s caught the “shelter cold” and ACC’s cure for that is to put her on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. Tonight, Dakota is pleading for someone to see what a great smile she has, who is ready to play and run and show her how a good grown up dog should be have; someone who will stick with her and let her become their very best bff. If that’s you, start working on fostering or adopting Dakota.
