During the summer months they are always critically short on providers and in addition to appointment access, this shortage also affects the turnaround time for prescription refills. While prescriptions are normally filled within 24-48 hours, fewer providers will increase that wait time to 72 hours. Please plan accordingly and call in refills a few days ahead of time so you dont get caught short. NATIONAL PIZZA PARTY DAY AT STEWART BOWLING, May 16: Stewart Bowling Center, building 450, celebrates this national day from 11:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. May 16 by offering our weekday rate for Pizza Pin and Pops promotion on this day. FREE BOAT INSPECTIONS AT HUNTER OUTDOOR RECREATION, May 17: The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will conduct courtesy vessel inspections from 8 a.m. until noon May 17 at building 8454, Outdoor Recreation. Proof of ownership is required. The event is being held to help the community learn about proper vessel requirements, and no citations will be issued. To register, or for more information, call 912-315-9554. AER CAMPAIGN, Ongoing: AER Campaign is in its last week of receiving donations. Currently we are short of our Goal of $275,000 by 20%. Requesting all Units and Directorates for a final push for AER donations. Remember AER is a “Soldiers First Choice” . You may donate through your unit representative or you may go on line @ AERHQ.ORG. ----- MAY HEADLINES WARRIOR LEADER COURSE GRADUATION, May 21: The Fort Stewart NCO Academy Warrior Leader course, Class 06-14, will graduate May 21, 2014, at Newman Fitness Center, 11 a.m. Doors open at 10:45 p.m. The uniform for military attendees is ACUs and for the civilians proper attire. SEVERE WEATHER PREPAREDNESS BRIEFINGS SCHEDULED, May 20 and 21: The Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Garrison Commander directs a Severe Weather Preparedness Day, May 20 and 21, in order to inform and prepare the Soldiers and Civilians with the Stewart-Hunter workforce for the 2014 Hurricane Season. All Soldiers assigned to the Garrison and DA Civilians will attend one of the scheduled Severe Weather Preparedness Briefings to be conducted at the Fort Stewart Woodruff Theater on May 20 and Hunter Theater on May 21. Leadership is encouraged to schedule their personnel to attend, but keep areas open for regular business during normal operational hours. Family Members are also encouraged to attend any of the briefings. The briefings on Stewart are at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 1 p.m. The Stewart POC is Tony Fleeger at 767-2583 or [email protected] . HAAF briefings are also at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 1 p.m. The Hunter POC is Hugh Quiller at 315-3851 or [email protected] . Each briefing will last approximately 1 hour. Everyone is invited to attend. 3RD ID BAND & SAVANNAH PHILHARMONIC TEAM FOR FREE CONCERT, May 22: The Savannah Philharmonic Chorus and 3rd Infantry Division Concert Band have teamed together to put on a patriotic concert for the public on May 22. Concert go-ers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and coolers to enjoy the hour long concert from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Fort Stewart’s Marne Garden located on the corner of Bultman Ave and Hase Rd just inside the Main Gate of Fort Stewart. The concert is FREE and open to the public. ID CARD SECTION CLOSED, May 23: The Fort Stewart ID Card Section in Building 253 will be closed from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 23 and will reopen at 1 p.m. The ID card section can be reached at 912-767-4909/2277. 100 DAYS OF SUMMER CAMPAIGN, May 26-Sept. 2: Community Members are encouraged to safely enjoy 100 Days of Summer. To facilitate that effort the installation will conduct 100 Days of Summer Safety Campaign May 26-Sept. 2, that will include increased traffic enforcement, DUI checkpoints, curfew enforcement and more. HUNTER CHAPEL WORSHIP AND RENEWAL WEEKEND, May 30,31 and June 1: Hunter Chapel Worship and Renewal Weekend will start on 30 May with Worship Celebration starting at 7:00 p.m. with The Matt Bartlett Band; on May 30 there will be a Spiritual Renewal Seminar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with guest speakers; Pastor Doug Bartlett, Dr. Robert Dunham, and Matt Bartlett leading different parts of the seminar, there will also be a Worship and Renewal Service the same evening starting at 7 p.m.; the Worship and Renewal Weekend will conclude with the normal Sunday Morning Worship Service, June 1 at 9:30 a.m. Childcare will be provided for all events. PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL (PMP) COURSE, July: The 3ID Division Engineers are facilitating an opportunity for individuals who are interested in attaining the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification to take a five day PMP prep course in July. This course will fulfill the 35 hour education requirement, which is a prerequisite to take the PMP exam. There are approximately 15 slots still available on a first come, first serve basis. The course will cost $625-$950 depending on the number of participants. SPLASHPARK OPENS FOR THE SEASON AT CORKAN, May 19: The Springs Splashpark, building 444 at Cypress Creek, opens May 19 from 11:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. for a new summer season. The cost is $2 per person (ages 3 and older) admission for those entering the gated area. Children ages 2 and under are free. Swimming diapers are required for children not potty trained. VOLUNTEER NIGHT AT TAYLORS CREEK GOLF COURSE, May 19: Join the volunteers who help keep the clubhouse and grounds at Taylors Creek Golf Course in tip-top shape. Bryan Village Pool will be open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday only.
