MARVELS AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. After three episodes, I have to admit that its boring me. The plots are by the numbers. Thats not okay, worse, however, is that the characters are oddly not engaging. Colson aside, there is an unremarkable quality to a show that should sparkle from the beginning. After all, its Joss Whedon, right? Uhm...not really. Hes doing the movie thing. His brother helms the show. Its a bit of a knock-off. Its flavorless because they are running plots that came from the first season of Scarecrow and Mrs. King. Kate and Bruce sparkled. S.H.I.E.L.D. doesnt need special effects so much as it needs to develop into something more than cookie cutter plots. Joss Whedon wants to upset normal story paradigms by raising up the B plot, but all I see so far...? The same old thing plus Colson. But this is only three episodes. Ill say more after thirteen.
