MATTHEW 3:1-14 In those days thee appeared John the Baptist, preaching in the Wilderness (Desert) of Judea And saying, Repent (think differently; change your mind, regretting your sins and changing your conduct), for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. This is he who was mentioned by the prophet Isaiah when he said, The voice of the one crying in the wilderness [shouting in the desert], Prepare the road for the Lord, make His highways strait (level, direct). [Isa. 40:3] This same Johns garments were made of camels hair, and he wore a leather girdle about his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey. [Lev. 11:22; II Kings 1:8; Zech. 13:4.] Then Jerusalem and all Judea and all the country round about the Jordan went out to him; And they were baptized in the Jordan by him, confessing their sins. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee and escape form the wrath and indignation [of God against disobedience] that is coming? Bring forth fruit that is consistent with repentance [let your lives prove your change of heart]; And do not presume to say to yourselves, We have Abraham for our forefather; for I tell you, God is able to raise up descendants for Abraham from these stones! And already the ax is lying at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. I indeed baptize you in (with) water because of repentance [that is, because of your changing your minds for the better, heartily amending your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins]. But He Who is coming after me is mightier than I, Whose sandals I am not worthy or fit to take off or carry; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. His winnowing fan (shovel, fork) is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear out and clean His threshing floor and gather and store His wheat in His barn, but he chaff He will burn up with fire that cannot be put out. Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John to be baptized by him. I understand Johns seriousness here; with the spirit speaking through him when he refers the Pharisees to righteousness because they had been self-provoking/praising themselves (me: wondering how humanities disrespecting the Almighty forgetting where we come from; our dogs dont rule us or feed themselves in a manner not near as sincere as we to the creator but they roll over as we command and bark when we say speak- isnt walks with our fond family members glorious but disgusting when we watch them return to their vomit?: (tell me theyre not heart felt) yet we dont jump off cliffs on the daily or eat mold... but the word usage is excessively real here; You brood of vipers ... Why has the enemy overtaken so many, since so many thousands of years ago? Wheres the virtue? When we understand who Jesus is more; we become more aware of who were supposed to be, while gaining much greatness like self-esteem AND purpose (&much more- since He is for us; and has given us what we have obtained)... or.... theres always the winnowing fork.. And if that sentence was blan or accepting; reality needs to be envisioned: Were stinky pooping humans who were created (((((To See))))) Jesus glory because Hes that cool and much more than we will ever be (not like dogs to humans, but our biggest, strongest, most abilitized, loving brother; who never had disturbing thoughts like we do or [anything; sinful], Hes just always been that way, sitting on the high throne with Father, and He came from heaven in which most likely you havent yet witnessed or realize the greatness of. [John the Baptist, unworthy to untie the straps of His sandals]. Today is a day of salvation, today is a day to live free, and [the end] is more near today than its ever been; once again, to only become immortal, hopefully with the perspective of truth to be going where Jesus is. By believing/following living a lifestyle that is set apart from the world; becoming.. different but in all honesty; who were made to be. If you believe, if you take into consideration the realness of reality and what people could simply miss out on & understand your risks; you follow. Theres not luke-warm or fine line inbetween or half paced olympics... Reverting to the next major step; Which I wonder why Jesus baptism was the same as everyone elses but had the Holy Spirit descend from heaven (prolly for the glory that day to be told forevermore) So: Baptism is more than necessary (you have to be a new creation to enter the kingdom): Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2 Cor 5:17)) But baptism wipes away the sins and the sins to come, not to say repent x100 but repentance should be near rare considering we understand the consequences; possible risks, know were not to live in sin; dont live in sin with Christ, not saying we dont sin, but if we think before we act/speak.... maybe you get my drift, we dont have the disobedience thats punished, such as some Catholics may who think its okay to go to bla bla service each week asking forgiveness for the same mistakes...sins? Thoughts should be taken captive and we should not act foolishly without thinking before.. otherwise you might be like that car that pulls out in front of all the traffic; for no death worth value, in ignorance..AND MMMK.... For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. (Rom 6:6,7) So instead were slaves to righteousness so we dont become like those who have eternal fire; thinkin they tough, reckless, rebellious, arrogant, and much more, still being infants under control of the first dummy. That would be satan, who is as brilliant as the dudes who get pwned in Home Alone.. Yet who in all truth causes much destruction. With Jesus were saved from robbers and thugs, death and decay.. The Spirit has made me free and I advise sharing this, praying for conviction for those who read this & rebuking underhanded methods/evil wicked schemes of the enemy so Godly sorrow may lead to Godly repentance. If you havent been baptized; its necessary.
