MDC ZimbabweAlert: Families out in the cold after Zanu PF arson attack. Tuesday, 22 July 2014 It never rained, but it poured for MDC supporters in Ruwa. The MDC Youth Assembly is seriously disturbed by the unbelievable acts of arson that were perpetrated by known Zanu pf culprits who are still roaming scot free. Reports received are that Zanu PF thugs under the command and sponsorship Robert Mugabe and his Zanu Pf instructed one staunch supporter named Simon Makaza to lead the arson attack on Tsvangirais supporters on this past weekend. Zanu Pf thugs burnt over thirty-five houses belonging to MDC supporters at Banana Groove Plot, in Ruwa. This demonic act by Robert Mugabes party left innocent families including children and the elderly exposed to the current harsh weather conditions. Makaza sent in a truck load of Zanu Pf thugs in the same manner and style that they invaded farms under the notorious orders and power of the late Chenjerai Hunzvi. These thugs burnt the houses forcing the families off the land. Attempts to make a report at Ruwa Police Station were futile as the Officer In-Charge who is a war vet, said the issue was outside their jurisdiction as it was neither civil nor criminal, but political hence they could not attend to it. Subsequently, the police officers who are supposed to be the custodians of the law totally refused to take down the complainants’reports and even to offer assistance. The word doing circles is that Makaza and his crews next target to attack is going to be those families suspected to be sympathetic to the MDC on that adjacent farm named the Danstun. The MDC Youth Assembly thus gives the police a mandate to arrest all the criminals involved by 1300hrs tomorrow, Wednesday the 23rd of July 2014. Any failure by the police to act as deemed fit will lead to the citizens putting the law into their own hands and effecting a citizen arrest on all the perpetrators. The MDC Youth Assembly urges the police to stop being used by Zanu Pf as it is making the citizens loose confidence in the republic police force. Furthermore let it be known that the MDC Youths will not stand aside and watch as Zanu Pf weevils disregard the citizens right to shelter and more especially in this nippy-chilly winter season. Let it be known the MDC Youths will not fold hands if these attacks towards our parents and supporters goes unpunished.
