MDEA PRESS RELEASE - July 19, 2013 From Commander Darrell Crandall @ 207-532-5170 On Thursday (7-18-13), MDEA Agents and Kennebec Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Allen “Bones” James, 31, of Manhattan, NY on State Street in Augusta, charging him with eight (8) counts of Aggravated Trafficking in Heroin and Crack Cocaine. The reason the offense is aggravated is because James has a prior felony drug conviction in New York. James had been under criminal investigation by MDEA Agents for several months, during which time agents purchased crack cocaine and heroin from Allen on several occasions. James appeared in court to assist another man with bail on Thursday and was taken into custody after a brief attempt to resist arrest. He is also charged with refusing to submit to arrest, a Class D misdemeanor. His bail is set at $75,000 cash. If convicted James faces no less than four years in prison.
