MEDFORD, OR -- Police are charging a resident for stopping a wanted felon from breaking into his apartment. Corey Thompson, a military veteran, was the target of an attempted home invasion at 11:30 PM, when he discovered a man trying to enter through his back door. He grabbed his AR-15 rifle and fired a warning shot. The warning shot successfully drove away the felon from entering the home. However police decided that Thompson needed jail time to learn a lesson. They charged him with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing and Reckless Endangering. kdrv/man-attempts-to-stop-felon-with-firearm/
